Where Is Boomer? In June & July
Boomer’s Kitchen & Catering is popping up where the city gathers this June and July. You’ve got Juneteenth celebrations, fireworks, summer crowds, and that familiar feeling that everybody is looking for something good to eat. That is where Boomer comes in. This summer, Boomer’s Food Truck will be at several major community events and festival-style gatherings across Philadelphia, including Juneteenth Jubilee at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, Kidchella at Smith Memorial Playground, Red, White, & Rosé Picnic on Independence Mall, and Wawa Welcome America festivities on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
This post is your guide to where Boomer will be in June and July and what each event is about.
Where Boomer Will Be in June & July
Boomer’s Kitchen & Catering will be part of a busy stretch of Philadelphia events that celebrate culture, history, and community. These are the kind of gatherings where a food truck belongs because people are moving, meeting up, and making plans on the fly. Nobody wants to stop the fun to figure out dinner. Good thing the Boomer’s Food Truck was built for this.
June 19: Juneteenth Jubilee at the African American Museum in Philadelphia
Juneteenth Jubilee is a day rooted in memory, pride, and celebration. The African American Museum in Philadelphia is a major cultural institution in the city.
Boomer will be there from 12 PM to 5 PM, right in the middle of a day that brings people together around heritage, history, and community. Showing up for Juneteenth is about being present where the community gathers. It is about serving people during a day that deserves warmth, care, and real connection.
If you are heading to the African American Museum in Philadelphia on June 19, come find Boomer. Bring your people. Bring your appetite. Bring comfortable shoes too, because Philly summer pavement does not play.
June 26: Kidchella at Smith Memorial Playground
Kidchella transforms Smith Memorial Playground into a kid-friendly concert experience with live performances, hands-on activities, food, play, and nonstop fun.
Parents know the drill. One kid wants to dance. Another wants to play. Somebody needs water. Somebody suddenly needs food right now, not in twenty minutes. A food truck gives families a clear place to go when hunger starts tapping everyone on the shoulder.
Boomer will be at Smith Memorial Playground on Friday, June 26, from 5 PM to 9 PM, ready to serve families enjoying one of the city’s most joyful summer events.
No stiff seating chart. No complicated meal service. Just good food, a line full of neighbors, and kids probably asking for “one more thing” before the night ends.
July 2: Red, White, & Rosé Picnic on Independence Mall
The Red, White, & Rosé Picnic is new for 2026, and it sounds like a very Philly way to ease into the July 4th celebration stretch.
Boomer will be at the event on Thursday, July 2, from 5 PM to 7 PM near 5th and Arch, right in the Historic District. Mato’s describes Red, White, & Rosé Picnic as an evening of relaxation and community dining on Independence Mall, part of Philadelphia’s 250th anniversary celebrations. That combination of history, picnic energy, and food trucks makes it a natural stop for Boomer.
July 4: Wawa Welcome America on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway
July 4th in Philadelphia is already big. In 2026, it gets even bigger. Marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philly.
Boomer will be on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway from 4 PM to midnight for Wawa Welcome America. That is a full evening of music, crowds, fireworks, families, friends, visitors, and Philly pride.
For anyone planning future festival catering, this is the kind of environment that shows why preparation matters. Large crowds need speed. Outdoor setups need clear flow. Long hours require stamina. And when fireworks are coming, everybody wants to grab food before the sky lights up.
